When will the conference take place? Where is it located?

The 2017 Annual Consumer Voice Conference is will be held November 5-8th at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel . The hotel is located at 2800 South Potomac Avenue, Arlington, VA 22202.

How do I become a member so I can receive a discount on my registration fee?

You can join or renew your membership at the same time you register for the conference. On the conference registration form, choose the member rate and check the box and follow the prompts to join or renew your membership.

How do I register as a group and what is the group rate policy?

You must apply to receive a group discount prior to registering anyone in your group. Send the list of individuals you would like to include in your group, along with a group name, to info@theconsumervoice.org and we will send you the applicable group code to use when filling out your registration form. We will not issue a new discount code after your initial group rate has been approved – even if your group exceeds your discount bracket. Further information on group rates can be found here; discount brackets can be found below.

  • Group of 5 – 9 individuals = 5% discount
  • Group of 10 – 19 individuals = 10% discount
  • Group of 20 or more individuals = 15% discount

How can I reserve a hotel room?

You can purchase your room at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel by clicking here. Special room rates will be available until October 10th, or until the group block is sold-out, whichever comes first. Rooms are available for $209/night. Reservations can also be made by calling 1-800-228-9290 – Please refer to the "National Consumer Voice Annual Conference" room block to book your room - a credit card hold or deposit is required at booking.

What is the closest metro station to the hotel?

Both the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metro Station and the Crystal City Metro Station are located less than one mile from the hotel. (https://www.wmata.com). The Reagan National Airport offers a free shuttle to and from the airport to the hotel.

I plan on driving to the conference. Where can I park my car?

Parking is available at the hotel for $9/hour and $30/daily. More information on travel (including driving directions, nearby airports, bus and train stations) can be found here.

I only want to attend one day of the conference, is that possible?

Yes. One day attendance can be selected on the registration form and costs $275 for Consumer Voice members and $325 for non-members.

What are the pre-conference intensives and when will they be held?

Get a head start on the conference with our two pre-conference intensives offered on Sunday, November 5th from 1:00pm-4:00pm. “Nursing Home Satisfaction Measures: What is Their Relationship to Quality?” is provided without cost as a part of a grant.  Our second intensive, "Ombudsman Volunteer Management," is $60

How do I find out more about sponsorship opportunities?

Through the support of sponsors like you, long-term care residents can participate for free, providing them the unique opportunity to share their experiences with others, network with residents and advocates from around the country, and stay informed on the latest policies that will affect their daily lives. Your support also enables us to hold down participant costs, thus helping us bring together citizen advocates and ombudsmen to share advocacy tips and strategies for overcoming barriers and challenges to quality care. And we can bring the voice of the consumer to federal officials, as they talk directly to residents about living in a long-term care facility.

What is the cancellation policy for the conference?

Registration Cancellation Policy: All cancellation requests for registration must be made in writing. A refund, minus a $100.00 processing fee, will be made for each request dated prior to October 30, 2017. No registration refunds will be issued after October 30th. Attendees must cancel their own hotel reservations according to the hotel’s cancellation policy or incur any applicable fees.
