Webinar – Online NORS Training Course Launch for Ombudsman Program Representatives
Join us on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 3:00pm – 4:00pm to learn about our new online course designed based on the four-part National Ombudsman Reporting System (NORS) training. We are excited to share this new training resource as it may assist your program in increasing access to NORS training. NORC staff will explain why we created the online course, how to utilize the self-study online courses, and share revised training materials. The online training is designed to prepare program representatives for documenting information that is gathered during intake, complaint investigation, resolution, and case closure. Each part of the NORS training includes basic definitions, required data elements, key takeaways, quiz questions, and examples of enhancing your storytelling with data. This online training is intended to be used as self-study along with additional guidance from the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman about your state’s data system, policies, and procedures, and gathering of accurate and timely information. The online training may be used by states for initial and continuing education training.
