Updated guidance for surveyors released by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released earlier this year becomes effective today, April 28. The revised guidance appears in Appendix PP of the State Operations Manual, which state survey agencies are required to follow when surveying and assessing facility compliance with federal regulations.
