March Forth Together! Webinar

March 04, 2022 - March 04, 2022

As we approach the two-year anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic, join Consumer Voice on Friday, March 4, 2022, for a webinar kicking off a month of action as we March Forth Together in support of better nursing home policies. Two hundred thousand residents and staff of long-term care facilities have died from COVID-19. Countless others have suffered from isolation and neglect. Yet, Congress has taken no steps to ensure the tragic events of the past two years do not recur and improve the lives and care of nursing home residents.

Much of the devastation in long-term care facilities was the result of long-standing issues that predated the pandemic, including inadequate staffing, poor enforcement and oversight of nursing homes, and little to no accountability for how billions of tax payer dollars are spent each year on nursing home care.

During the month of March, the Consumer Voice will be calling on you to tell Congress to pass meaningful reform, which includes:

  • Minimum staffing standards in nursing homes;
  • Increased pay, benefits, and training for staff;
  • Better oversight of nursing homes; and
  • Accountability for how nursing homes spend Medicare and Medicaid dollars

Join us March 4, 2022, as we discuss a new report on the catastrophic effects of inadequate staffing on nursing home care and the reforms necessary to better protect nursing home residents. We will detail a month-long series of actions that we all can take to advocate for residents of long-term care facilities.

Together we can March Forth and honor the memory of those we have lost by urging Congress to bring about impactful and meaningful change.
