CALLING ALL ADVOCATES - ACTION NEEDED NOW

November 05, 2021

Your advocacy is needed more than ever. A provision to require at least one registered nurse (RN) 24 hours a day has been added to the four critical provisions included in the most recent version of the Build Back Better Act (budget reconciliation bill). This is extraordinarily good news, but this provision – along with the others – is at risk. In particular, there is a push to remove both the minimum staffing standard provision and the RN coverage from the bill.

We can’t let this happen. Please tell your members of Congress to support all five provisions.  Click here to send a message to your federal legislators.

The clock is ticking - the vote in the House could happen at any time.

After all that residents have suffered during the pandemic, we must do everything we can to ensure they receive better care and increased protections. The 24 hour RN requirement, along with provisions that would  lead to a minimum staffing standard, improve the survey and enforcement process, improve the accuracy and reliability of data submitted to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and increase scrutiny of Medicare cost reports, would make a significant difference in the lives of nursing home residents.

Your advocacy matters. And thank you!
